Common container specifications and dimensions, how much volume and tons can a container hold?

There are four main types of commonly used standard containers, 20GP, 40GP, 40HQ and 45HQ.
 
  • 1. 20GP: 20-foot standard container, internal dimensions are L5898*W2352*H2393mm, weight limit is 20-24.95 tons.
  • 2. 40GP: 40-foot standard container, internal dimensions are L12192*W2352*H2393mm, weight limit is 20-26.50 tons.
  • 3. 45GP: 45-foot standard container, internal dimensions are L13556*W2352*H2393mm, weight limit is 20-26.50 tons.
  • 4. 40HQ: 40 feet high box, internal dimensions are L12192*W2352*H2698mm, weight limit is 20-26.50 tons.
  • 5. 45HQ: 45 feet high box, internal dimensions are L13556*W2352*H2698mm, weight limit is 20-26.50 tons.
At present, the most common types of cranes used in ports are 20 ft electric cable hoist and 40 ft electric cable hoist.
The 20 ft electric cable hoist is a special machine for stacking, loading and unloading containers at container terminals. The electric hoist is mainly composed of two double-cantilevered gantry frames. The door legs on both sides are connected with lower beams. They are supported on the walking wheel platform and can walk on the track. The main advantage of this machine is that it can stack 4 to 5 layers of containers and can span multiple rows of containers and one lane. Therefore, it has high storage capacity and high utilization rate of the yard area. Due to its simple structure, it is easy to operate, easy to maintain, and easy to realize automation. The main disadvantage is that it has poor flexibility because it has to run along the track; due to the large span, it is difficult to extract the bottom box. It is often used in container terminals with insufficient land area and large throughput.

Mechanical structure
The components of the rail crane mainly include hoisting, trolley, cart, power room, driver's cab, etc. Most of the mechanical structure is similar to that of a tire crane, but the difference is the traveling mechanism of the cart.
The components of the orbital hoisting mechanism mainly include motors, reducers, brakes, high-speed shaft couplings, low-speed shaft couplings, wire rope drums and drum bearing seats, etc.
Spreaders generally have 4 ropes and 8 ropes, and their usage is similar to tire cranes.
The trolley mechanism of the track crane is generally large in number and fixed on the track. It can only move forward or backward in a straight line, and cannot change the direction of the trolley on its own, nor can it raise its height.
